Spirituality and Religion: Are They Compatible? The most recent of Rev. Acheson’s study groups focused on a growing awareness in our culture of the distinction between religion, on the one hand, and spirituality on the other. Time was divided between presentations, discussion and inner work. Among other things, the group explored the differences and similarities between religion and spirituality as distinct modalities for approaching ultimate things. We examined how spirituality and religion either get in the way of each other, or complement each other….or, at differing times, both. And we considered what some of the criteria are for determining the priorities between our spiritual experiences and our religious involvements.

Rev. Acheson will be announcing a new study group soon to take place early in 2010.
